The Relocation
Office is here to assist PCSing service members and
families. We know how hard a change of duty station can be
and the various tasks you undertake to make it a smooth
move. It is with this in mind, that we offer the following
services to our military men and women and their families.

Checking-In or Checking-Out |
|
• |
When arriving to
Cherry Point you will begin a check-in process. this
requires you to visit various base offices to check-in and
find out what services that office may offer to you. Each
office representative will then sign off on your check-in
sheet which your unit will provide you with. For those
service members who are PCSing to another duty station, the
process is the same. Only you will be checking-out of those
offices and making sure you haven't left any last minute
details unfinished. The Relocation Office is a mandatory
check-in and check-out stop for signature and information.
If checking-in you will be provided a check-in packet to
include: base map, local phone book and flyers and brochures
on the many programs and services offered at Marine & Family
Programs. We can also sign you up for the mandatory Welcome
Aboard brief that is held monthly.
If checking-out we will provide you with information on your
next duty station. |

Sponsorship Requests |

A sponsor is another
active duty marine/Sailor at the duty station that you will
be PCSing to that will assist you in your arrival. If you
are PCSing outside the United States, you are required to
have a sponsor. You may either see someone in the Relocation
Assistance office or your sponsorship coordinator at your
squadron for a sponsorship request form. Sponsors will
contact you when they are assigned and find out what
assistance you may need prior to and upon arrival to your
new duty station. Things such as transportation from the
airport, making reservations for billeting and such are
typical duties of the sponsor. Your sponsor can provide you
with information on the area and what it's like living
there.
