RELOCATION ASSISTANCE OFFICE - Bldg 4335, 466-4401

The Relocation Office is here to assist PCSing service members and families. We know how hard a change of duty station can be and the various tasks you undertake to make it a smooth move. It is with this in mind, that we offer the following services to our military men and women and their families.

Welcome Packet

Plan My Move

Checking-In or Checking-Out

When arriving to Cherry Point you will begin a check-in process. this requires you to visit various base offices to check-in and find out what services that office may offer to you. Each office representative will then sign off on your check-in sheet which your unit will provide you with. For those service members who are PCSing to another duty station, the process is the same. Only you will be checking-out of those offices and making sure you haven't left any last minute details unfinished. The Relocation Office is a mandatory check-in and check-out stop for signature and information.

If checking-in you will be provided a check-in packet to include: base map, local phone book and flyers and brochures on the many programs and services offered at Marine & Family Programs. We can also sign you up for the mandatory Welcome Aboard brief that is held monthly.
If checking-out we will provide you with information on your next duty station.

Lending Locker

We have a lending locker available to those personnel who are PCSing in or out of Cherry Point and find themselves without the basic household needs. If you shipment has already been picked up or if you're a waiting your household goods we have various items that we lend out.
Items include:
• Futons (Single size foldout mattress) • Car seats • Cribs
• Coffee Maker • Broom & Dust Pan • Strollers
• Iron & Ironing Board • Table & Chairs • Loan Kit (dishes, pots, pans, utensils, etc.)
• Highchairs • Toaster
These items are checked out on a 30 day basis. Items must be returned clean and in good working condition as they left. Extensions can be made by calling our office.

Welcome Aboard Brief

The Welcome Aboard Brief is held the third Wednesday of each month, January - November. The brief is approximately 3.5 hours long and will consist of various speakers to include Station SgtMaj, PMO, Chapel, Legal, Marine & Family Programs and more. There will also be an Information Fair at which various off base and on base organizations will be present. This includes: Colleges, Universities, Bank, Credit Union, Child Development Program, New Parent Support Program and more. The Welcome Aboard brief is a MANDATORY for all incoming Company Grade officers and enlisted Marines in the grades Staff Sergeant (E-5) and below. We cannot stress the importance of the Welcome Aboard brief. Vital information is passed on the various programs and services both on and off base. We welcome and encourage spouses to attend as well. All participants will receive the MCCS coupon book which contains many money-saving options for the service member and family.

Plan Your Move Seminar

Speakers for this seminar include: TMO and Disbursing. You will get all the information you need to know to make a smooth move to your next duty station. This seminar will provide information on the constantly changing benefits and allowances related to PCSing. This seminar is MANDATORY for all personnel transferring out of  Cherry Point.

Other Classes/Workshops Offered

Home Buying/Selling Seminar - Intensive 4 hour seminar
Okinawa/Iwakuni Class - Customs, culture and more, great for first-timers overseas.

Sponsorship Requests

A sponsor is another active duty marine/Sailor at the duty station that you will be PCSing to that will assist you in your arrival. If you are PCSing outside the United States, you are required to have a sponsor. You may either see someone in the Relocation Assistance office or your sponsorship coordinator at your squadron for a sponsorship request form. Sponsors will contact you when they are assigned and find out what assistance you may need prior to and upon arrival to your new duty station. Things such as transportation from the airport, making reservations for billeting and such are typical duties of the sponsor. Your sponsor can provide you with information on the area and what it's like living there.

*Sponsorship Training - Sponsorship Training is available to units & individuals upon request.

Driving Directions

If you are gearing up for that next road trip stop by the Relocation office. All we need is your starting point of travel and your destination and we will print out the driving directions for you. It couldn't be any easier.
