The mission of the Marine Corps Community Services, Cherry Point Lifelong Learning program is to enrich the quality of life for our entire military community by providing a broad range of personal and professional learning opportunities.
Lifelong Learning program enhances the Quality of Life for Marine Corps personnel and their family members by providing a wide range of services to support their professional, intellectual, and recreational needs. Lifelong Learning oversees both traditional and non-traditional educational degree programs located at the Joint Education Center, and seeks to further stimulate the lifelong learning process by offering and integrating both the Joint Education Center and Library Services.

 

On Base Schools and Programs:

Craven Community College - 466-5020
Associate degrees, Vo/Tech Diplomas and certificates, high school completion, GED testing and continuing education.
Park University- 466-2655
Bachelor of Science degrees in Management, Human Resources, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Security, Criminal Justice Administration, Social Psychology, Finance and Logistics.

In addition, Park University offers classes for the deployed education program coordinated through the education office for all units deploying on the east coast.

MCSEN (Marine Corps Satellite Education Network)
Off-Duty Education Programs as offered.
The MASP, Military Academic Skills Program is designed to improve the competence of the active duty marine and to improve their promotion potential, which directly strengthens the military community.  MASP classes are offered through the Education Office.  The Unit/Squadron Education Officers/Career Planners via Commanding Officers provide the name, SSN, Unit/squadron name, and duty phone of the eligible enlisted personnel needing the class.  Class size is limited, please provide names of eligible personnel ASAP. 
Eligibility:
Enlisted personnel with a General Technical (GT) score of 99 or below.
Enlisted personnel referred by Commanding Officer to improve performance through reading, math and communication/writing skills.
Military dependants & civilians as space is available.
Apprenticeship Program:
United Services Military Apprenticeship Program (USMAP) through HQMC and US Dept of Labor available for 87 various MOS's.

CLEP General and subject tests, DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), SAT, ACT, Excelsior, PRAXIS and 30 Different Certification exams.
Proctor services for distance learning/independent study enrollments.
Counseling is provided for  military and civilians for educational pursuits, tuition assistance, correspondence course, education/commissioning programs, VA benefits/financial aid, and evaluation of military learning experiences for college credit. (Smart Transcripts)
  Interest Inventories:
Strong's Interest Inventory - an online assessment that helps students to discover their true interests so they can better identify, understand, and often expand their career options.
Kuder Inventory - an online assessment that provides Internet-based tools and resources that help students and adults achieve their educational and career planning goals.
