Marine Corps
Family Team Building works with Unit Command Teams to
provide Pre-deployment Briefs for their Marines and
Sailors and family members. We offer Return and Reunion
Workshops for spouses and children of returning service
members. Parenting for Deployment is an excellent course
for those preparing for or in the middle of a
deployment. Parents receive tips and tools to help their
children with separation anxiety, staying connected with
their deployed parent and positive ways to express their
feelings.

What is the Key Volunteer Network? |
|
The Key
Volunteer Network is a communication network, formed
within
a
unit, to help keep families better informed about the
mission and tasks of that unit, and to assist in
establishing a sense of community. In addition to being
the primary link between the Command and it's families,
the Key Volunteer Network is also a support network. Key
Volunteers provide information and referrals to local
organizations and resources. |
Duties of a Key Volunteer:
•
Disseminate accurate & timely information to
families as directed by the Command via email, phone
tree, newsletter, etc.
• Welcome incoming families
• Provide referrals to local resources
• Offer support as directed by the Command |
|
How do I
become a Key Volunteer?
The Key Volunteer Network needs spouses like you to
keep families informed and help promote family
readiness! With families in a higher state of readiness,
individual Marines are better able to perform their
assigned missions efficiently, effectively, and safely,
thereby promoting a higher state of unit readiness.
Marine Corps Family Team Building Cherry Point provides
standardized training courses once a month at the Key
Volunteer Center. The training is open to all spouses of
active duty Marines and Sailors. Training includes: Key
Volunteer Structure, roles and responsibilities of
a Key Volunteer, confidentiality, providing referrals
and acting as a communication link. Contact your unit
Key Volunteer Coordinator or the Key Volunteer Trainer
to schedule training. The Key Volunteer Trainer can be
reached at (252) 466-5779.
