Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday, 8am-6pm  • Open Recreation: 2:45-5:45pm
Saturdays: 1-6pm • Open Recreation: 1-5:45pm

Requirements: A parent signed registration form is required to participate at "The Rec. All youth must sign in and out every time they enter or leave the center.

Mission Statement
The Teen/community Center's mission in accordance to MCCS Cherry point is to offer programs and activities for youth ages 13 to 18 ( 18 if still in high school) and the families of MCAS Cherry Point. To ensure that the youth and families who participate in our programs and activities have a positive experience by emphasizing learning, participation, and having fun.

Design Of Our Programs
As a chartered member of the Boys & Girls Club, we are committed to its guidelines and principles. Therefore, you will find that our program (especially pertaining to youth) is designed in such a manner to reflect the values that the standards represent.

About the "REC"!
What make the "REC" unique is it's for the youth, by the youth philosophy. We believe the teens we serve are the best suited to design and implement their programs through our Teen Council. We give them a voice in decision making and leadership roles in our programming process for their Teen Center.

About the "PROGRAM"!
The Cherry Point Teen Center recreation program is provided to help our teens channel their intellects, ambitions and energy in a productive and exciting manner.


Fun programs!
The "REC's" Teen Volunteer Program is a program where teens gain valuable experience, learn about our community and the needs of others around them. They will gain leadership skills and get hands on experience and training in many different avenues.
* All teens are encouraged to participate as teen volunteers.


Open Recreation Program
(Monday - Friday: 10am-6:45pm;
 Saturdays: 1-7pm)
(5) Video Game Units = X Box, X Box 360, Wii & hundreds of games to choose from that includes: Guitar Hero World Tour, Smackdown vs Raw 2009, madden, Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart, Wii Sports, Dance Dance Revolution, Karaoke and hundreds of other games to play on our big screen TV's.

But if you are not a Video Game Buff. How about doing something else Kool like:

Keystone Club - Ages 13-18
The Keystone Club is designed to help  youth become more productive citizens and leaders. To promote character and leadership among youth.

Junior Staff (Summer) - Ages 13-18
A practical small-group program that assists youth in exploring a career in youth development or other human services, with a particular focus on Boys & Girls Club work. This will provide  youth with age-appropriate skill building opportunities and hands-on work experience in career development, apprenticeship, customer service, and community service.

Power Hour - Ages 13-18
Begins August 31st - Program will be offered from 4-5pm. Power Hour is offered to help youth develop academic, behavioral and social skills through homework completion. This program will offer beneficial one-to-one homework help, research strategies, making homework fun, behavior management during power hour, character development, and use of technology and the internet to support homework help.
• No registration is required


To the Parents
"The REC" Cherry Point's Teen and Tween is a safe, fun, positive environment that is free of violence, drugs, prejudice or bullying. A place for all teens to build self esteem and feel good about themselves.

 



 
Music Matters - Ages 13-18
Music Matters offers youth the chance to experience different and new ways of music through our Karaoke program. Youth will sing along to music of all generations while gaining in understanding knowledge and respect to all types of music while having fun in the process.
• No registration is required
Triple Play - Ages 13-18
Trip Play offers youth activities of keeping fit and forming positive relationships which adds to healthy lifestyle for youth. Activities may include basketball, flag football, softball, exercising, and much more! No registration is required
