Semper Fit
Athletics offers a variety of programs to meet the
recreational needs of our men and women serving aboard
Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. Whether it's team
or individual sports, Semper Fit is committed to
providing a outlet for you to spend your downtime. |

Intramural |
|
Intramural Programs
are the heart and soul of what we offer hear aboard the
air station. Intramural teams are composed of Marines of
the same unit, who compete against other units aboard
the base. These are our larger and more popular
leaguesand plenty of competition and fun for our
Marines & Sailors. Leagues offered but are not limited
to the following. Sports are being added constantly
based on interest. |

Varsity |
|
Varsity Programs
is a chance for Marines & Sailor stationed aboard our
air station to represent Cherry Point in the East Coast
Regional Tournaments held yearly, Marines stationed up
and down bases on the east coast will compete for glory
and bragging rights in this event. Regional completions
occur for the following sports: |

• Brazilian • Jiu-Jitsu |

All Marine |
|
Marines who
feel they would be ideal candidates to represent the
Marine Corps with their athletic prowess can participate
in All Marine Camp, either by selection during one of
our east coast regional events or via application to be
submitted through Athletics Division. All Marine
selectees will participate in Armed Forces Tournaments
of their select sport, where we will compete for the
gold verses other branches of the uniformed services.

Sports Council |
Semper Fit
Athletics would like to announce the development of a
Sports Council aboard marine Corps Air Station Cherry
Point. Meetings will be held the last Monday of every
month at AA's or Semper Fit Center. Unit representatives
are encouraged to be present, but we welcome any Marine
or Sailor stationed aboard the base to participate. The
overall purpose of the council is to obtain direct input
from each unit to discuss and work on creating effective
leagues, tournaments and programs.
Provided will be two representatives from athletics
along with a representative from the Single Marine
Program. An agenda will be posted prior to the meeting(s)
to give ample time for representatives to obtain
concerns and feedback from their Marines and Sailors.

Please Note: An
organizational meeting is scheduled prior to the
beginning of each season. Coaches are requested to
attend.
Recreational league open to all personnel
assigned/attached to MCAS Cherry Point, including DoD
and NAF employees, family members 16 and older and
retirees. |
|
In order to participate in a league, teams must submit a
letter of intent (LOI) as well as a team roster to the
Athletic Office approximately 3 weeks prior to the
league starting. The week following deadline for LOI's &
rosters to be submitted, there will be a coach's meeting
to go over the rules of the league & hand out game
schedules. Games typically start the week following the
Coaches meeting. |
